Streets

The streets within the community have been turned over to the county and therefore now fall under County laws and jurisdiction. There is no parking allowed on any street at any time and the County has installed new No Parking signs at the entrance to the community. The grass area between the sidewalk and the street is considered County Right of Way. It is the individual lot owners responsibility to maintain this area, including keeping the trees trimmed so they do not obstruct the street or sidewalk. Lot owners can not add or remove any trees to this area without approval from the HOA's Architectural Control Committee and a permit from the County.

Burglaries

In light of recent auto burglary activity, please ensure you take proper precaution to secure your home and vehicle.

  1. Secure your home and cars, even if you are home and it's daytime. Do not leave windows open overnight, no matter how tempting it is when the weather is nice.
  2. Consider adding security measures to your home, such as motion-sensor lights, security cameras and special locks for sliding doors. The application form for approval for exterior changes can be found on the community website, www.suncoastlakeshoa.com.
  3. DO NOT leave garage door openers in your car. Take them inside with you.
  4. If at all possible, park your cars in your garage, ESPECIALLY if you think your family drivers are likely to leave the garage door openers in the car. I know we have a lack of adequate storage and paying for a storage unit is expensive, but it may be the right time to declutter with a yard sale. Then you can afford the new motion sensor lights! It's a lot less expensive than replacing your GPS, iPod, cell phone and who knows what else, in addition to wondering if they could have gotten access to your home while you and your loved ones were sleeping. Your peace of mind is priceless. I'm sorry if this comes off heavy-handed, but hopefully I'm making my point. No amount of stuff is worth storing in your garage at the price of your safety.
  5. If you're leaving or coming home and have a few minutes to spare, please consider doing a loop through your neighborhood, especially if it's nighttime or early morning. As always, don't be reluctant to report suspicious activity. You could be your neighbor's new hero if you stop a burglary in process or help catch a suspect in the act.
